Obviously the answer to that question is more money and more time (generally speaking about life :D).
Got this email yesterday, I did not have the time to do those additional runs last week
Needless to say I need more time but what running gear do I need?
On Saturday, a few ladies in the group were talking about gear. A lot of runners own fuel belts and camelbak backpacks. A few of have GPS/split time watches.
Sadly, all of that costs money. A lot of money.
I want all of those things. I finally got new sneakers after 8 months (I know, I know, I’m supposed to switch them out after 400-500 miles…). I’ve been eyeing the Brooks Ghost 6 for a few months and I got them as a present on Saturday! (Thanks parents!)
My new gear: Brooks Ghost 6, new running spandex/shorts and sports bra!
Is there something I should be investing in? I want to know about these watches and the better fuel/hydration gear. Is it worth the money? What can I get for cheap? Sadly unless it’s a race, I don’t time myself. I actually don’t even wear a watch – purely relying on my work phone, cell, etc to tell me the time. I should probably start timing myself for these long marathon runs, right?
Goals for the week
Did 4 miles yesterday (Monday) and 60 leg lunges! Legs were sore this morning. My right back thigh cramped up yesterday and my left calf cramped this morning. Another goal is to eat more bananas to fight the cramps, so far so good (FYI I really hate bananas!)
Weds – 3-4 miles
Thurs – 3-4 miles
Fri – rest
Sun – yoga & 3 miles
