5 years ago, I posted my first blog post on July 24, 2013. I did not expect to have this blog for 5 years. It’s been an interesting journey to say the least. I started this blog as a way to document my training and hold myself accountable for my first marathon (Philly Marathon).
When I started this blog 5 years ago, I was a paralegal obsessed with running whose side job was running social media for a women’s legal nonprofit and only thinking about law school. 5 years later, I’m a lawyer who only runs during flag football games and is obsessed with climbing. Needless to say, this blog has documented so many life changes.
Over the course of 5 years, this blog has seen 20 of 24 half-marathons, 3 marathons, a triathlon, breakups, law school, the bar exam, getting admitted, new jobs, and new sports.
This blog has also given me a lot. It’s been an outlet for me to talk about everything fitness and running related to basically just about anything. I’ve been able to attend races and review products and classes but most importantly, it’s brought me a community of friends. Probably the last thing I expected to come from this blog.
The blog has seen me go through my fitness phases. From oldest to present, I’ve gone through my running, Classpass then Fitreserve obsession to my Swerve addiction, to my at home workouts with BBG & the SWEAT app to my newest addiction of climbing and flag football. I feel like I’ve probably tried every single workout or yoga class in the city.
As for the future, I hope this blog continues to be a resource for people for race reviews, gym reviews or even a helping hand while trip planning. (Or maybe a source of entertainment? I sometimes write like no one is reading so I’m sure it’s entertaining at times.)
